In mid-August, the Taliban assumed power in Afghanistan. This event is likely to cause systemic changes in the lives of millions of Afghans – women, men and children alike. While the overall situation is still unclear, the international community, including the philanthropic sector, needs to reflect on how it will pursue its support to civil society in Afghanistan.

The Working Group International Development and Cooperation invites all SwissFoundations members, who have been active in Afghanistan or who are planning to become active in Afghanistan, to an online brainstorming and networking session.

The webinar will take place on Tuesday, 28th September, 10:00-11:30am and it will be held on Zoom.

The purpose of the meeting is not to provide an overview of the latest developments in Afghanistan. Rather, the main purpose is to:

  • do a mapping of who-does-what-where,
  • exchange information/advise on how to start or continue engagements in Afghanistan, and
  • seek opportunities to coordinate/cooperate to enhance our support to civil society in Afghanistan in both the humanitarian and development sectors.

Kindly confirm your participation by Friday 24th September to members@swissfoundations.ch and please specify whether the foundation you work for is already actively engaged or intends to become active in Afghanistan.

The Zoom link will be sent after your registration.
