Want longterm impact? Invest in Organisational Development! Views from five funders

After several years of funding Organisational Development of their grantees, five SwissFoundations‘ members – Laudes Foundation, MAVA Foundation, Mercator Foundation Switzerland, Oak Foundation and PeaceNexus Foundation – decided to share their experience and the benefits of their investment in a working paper entitled Organisational Development – a smart investment to multiply impact.

In order to fulfill their purpose, foundations should strenghten their partners in the field sustainanbly. This means that they have to check in with their partners to ensure that they have the right systems and capacities to deliver on their programme objectives. Otherwise, even long-term trusted partners may collapse if they haven’t been able to invest in their organisation.

The paper is aimed at practitioners looking to multiply their impact with underlying intention to promote Organisational Development (OD) as a key dimension in their daily work. It contains key insights on how to engage in OD and on how to address dilemmas within the standard process. To learn more about it, you can download the working paper below.

Recognising the importance of this topic, SwissFoundations gave the floor to the authors for a workshop on 1st October, moderated by Claudia Genier, ROcKK, which was a great opportunity to learn more about their experience and insights on investing in OD. The foundations talked about how they tackle issues whilst highlighting their consequences, successes and challenges.

Congratulations to Laudes Foundation, MAVA Foundation, Mercator Foundation Switzerland, Oak Foundation and PeaceNexus Foundation for this important initiative!
