A new president for Fondation Botnar
The Board of Fonation Botnar has elected Prof. Dr. Thomas A. Gutzwiller to be its new president, effective 20. September 2019. He is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of St. Galler Kantonalbank, partner of a management consulting company and Professor for Executive Education at the University of St. Gallen. Furthermore, he is already familiar with the world of philanthropy due to several positions at boards of directors and foundation boards, including the Ernst Göhner Stiftung and Swisscontact.
Fondation Botnar fosters the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technology to improve the health and wellbeing of children and young people in growing urban environments worldwide. The election of Prof. Dr. Gutzwiller is in line with Fondation Botnar´s strive to incorporate entrepreneurial approaches both at the strategic level and in its implementation work. Gutzwiller comments: „I am looking forward to joining Fondation Botnar on their promising path. Prof. Dr. Gutzwiller succeeds the former president and lawyer from Basel, Dr. Peter Lenz who supported the establishment of the foundation, its management office and strategy since its founding in late 2003.
