Have you ever met a Higgs boson?
The CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is the world’s largest and most powerful particle accelerator. It consists of a 27-kilometre ring of superconducting magnets with a number of accelerating structures to boost the energy of the particles along the way. Particles took their last spin around the LHC early December 2018, before scientists shut the machine down for two years of upgrades. This rest period gives us the great opportunity to visit locations usually closed to the public.
The visit is followed by a working session, to make a bridge across Switzerland and encourage a constructive and open dialogue amongst grant-making foundations.
For SwissFoundations members and special guests only.
