Membership
Grant-making funds seated in Switzerland or in Liechtenstein, with their own foundation assets and investing the latter for charitable purposes may become SwissFoundations members. There are no restrictions with regard to the purposes for which grants are issued. Annual membership fees are based on the volume of the grants made (1.5 per mill of the average volume of funds distributed over the course of the past 3 years).
Grant-making foundations from Liechtenstein are to be registered on the public foundation register, require a yearly audit and need to be exempted from tax.
In addition to a full membership, it is also possible to join SwissFoundations as an associated partner. Associated partners may attend all events as well as benefiting from the entire offer of services and further education as provided by SwissFoundations. Associated partners do not, however, enjoy voting or election rights.
Please refer to the corresponding regulations (amended 2010, in German) to learn more about the procedures and admission criteria.
